COVID-19 (coronavirus) memorandum

Dear Colleagues,

Like all of you, RONIN international has been monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and we wanted to update you on the steps we have taken to ensure we continue to deliver on your research objectives and insight needs during these challenging times.

Health & welfare

From the early days of the outbreak, our first priority has been to ensure the safety and continued good health – both mental and physical – of our staff and their families across our Group of companies. In addition to practical mitigating measures that were rolled out across all sites, all staff who can work from home have been given the option to do so and have largely transitioned to a home environment as we do our bit to prevent the spread of the virus thanks to our stress-tested systems for business continuity planning.

Impact on research

We must also recognise that, although it is business as usual for us, the same cannot be said for the healthcare professionals currently under exceptional strain. We have suspended all telephone work to hospital-based physicians, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists and GPs and we will continue to monitor the situation in the 40+ countries in which we are currently conducting studies to ensure we can resume our work as and when appropriate.

However, we are pleased to report that there has been no other noticeable impact to our domestic and international performance as we see expected productivity levels across our CATI, digital recruitment and social targeting work – China, where we had suspended all B2B work three weeks ago, is seeing a gradual return to normality as businesses are beginning to reopen. We are currently running test shifts to assess this rapidly-changing situation.

Continuous service delivery

In addition to a majority of our staff that are already working from home, including our desk research and digital recruitment specialists, we have capacity to deploy our CATI teams from any of our three UK offices (London, Lancaster and Bristol) with capacity for 60 interviewers working from home without having to compromise our resilient security policies or best-in-class quality control across all methodologies and project types, from one centralized calling platform and our usual integrated, monitored telephony services. We have full confidence in our continued ability to meet our usual exacting standards across our service offering in the coming weeks.

What next?

This crisis raises fundamental questions about our society, and we will look to the insights community to provide some of the answers, so we can all learn from these difficult times. We’re here to support you through this challenge and help you find answers to these questions as and when they emerge with the same commitment to delivery as ever.

In the meantime, be safe!

With kind regards,

Simon Glanville
